Shit on a Shingle (aka chipped beef)

Just like they serve in the military!  Chipped beef and “gravy” over toast, muffins, or potatoes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (2.5 oz) package sliced dried beef
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1⅓ cup milk
  • ½ teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • Dash of Pepper
  • Toast, English muffins toasted, or sliced potatoes

Instructions:

  • Cook dried beef in butter 3 minutes on a skillet
  • Stir the flour into butter mixture, then add milk and cook until it thickens.  Constantly stir so it doesn’t burn.
  • Stir in Worcestershire sauce and pepper and cook additional 1 to 2 min .
  • Serve on toast, English muffins, and/or sliced potatoes.
