We baked this for the Akron game and it was delicious. One loaf was made on Monday and frozen until Friday morning. The other was baked Thursday night and both were big hits with the tailgaters.
1/2 package of pepperoni
1 bag mozzarella pizza cheese
1/2 green pepper
5-6 slices deli ham (medium thickness)
1 jar Ragu Pizza sauce
1 Pillsbury Pizza Crust (in the pop-open container)
1 egg
A few tablespoons of butter
Garlic salt and oregano if desired
Preheat the oven to 375°F.
Roll out the pre-made pizza dough onto a standard size rectangular cookie sheet. Melt butter and coat evenly on dough. Spread as much pizza sauce as you like over dough. Sprinkle the cheese onto the pizza dough, covering it evenly, then completely cover the surface with pepperoni, ham, and chopped peppers. Sprinkle garlic salt and oregano modestly. Then, roll the dough into a large tubular shape. Cover top of bread with whipped egg.
Bake in the oven for about 15-18 minutes until golden brown. Let it cool for several minutes; then cut into 1 inch slices.
Yields 12-20 slices depending on the length and thickness after the dough is rolled.
